Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

Hormones influence genomic and nongenomic signaling. The interplay, sufficiency, and functionality of hormones (not just thyroid and adrenal but sex hormones) is a crucial part of one’s overall health. While sex hormones are most often in decline and necessary for those in mid life or above, in rare cases these are used in today’s youth. Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, though most commonly known to help with perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms, has also been proven to help both genders with cognition, chronic fatigue, mood, insomnia, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular, and bone health among others. Bioidentical hormones are easily processed by the body, when compared to synthetic hormones, as the molecular structure is more closely mimicked.

The optimization of a particular hormone’s functionality occurs with detoxification from various biotoxins and ensuring other hormone levels are normalized. For this reason, each individual patient is looked at from a holistic perspective, in terms of all aspects of their health, to optimize the hormone usage and use it as minimally as necessary. Hormone receptors are just as important as hormones themselves and treating a patient in this way allows each hormone and their respective receptor to work in tandem as designed.
